This painting was submitted as a requirement for my HSC. It was under the subject Visual Arts 2U. Interestingly, it made it into the Artexpress Exhibit (Main Exhibit, NSW Gallery, 1994), and was printed along with other representative artworks of the collection in the Sydney Morning Herald.
Artexpress was a surprise since I wasn't fielding this work to be chosen; rather, I was hoping my photos for Visual Arts 3U would at least be considered for the minor exhibits.
I think the only thing I got right in this painting were the clouds. Being painted in acrylic, I had no way of scraping my mistakes off the canvas once they have dried - though I really tried. I think the judges thought the "scars" on the canvas were intended texture effects.
Don't even let me begin talking about the man in the foreground...
